HUGE BBC SHAKEUP REVEALED OVER EASTER WEEKEND AS SHOWS CANCELLED

Shake-ups on the small screen are due once again from this Friday as the Easter weekend begins with cancellations and postponements, starting on BBC One.

Beyond Paradise will notably be pushed back from its regular 8pm slot, airing between two Ghostbusters reboots at 9pm.

This follows the recent start of the drama series' second season, which dropped on Friday, March 22, on BBC One with the likes of Sally Bretton, Dylan Llewellyn and Kris Marshall reprising their respective roles.

The broadcaster will air the Death In Paradise spin-off between the Ghostbusters franchise's 2016 film and its 2021 sequel, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and both of these will respectively hit our screens from 7.05pm and 10.30pm.

More patience will be required from TV fans as this shake-up will force regular watchers of RuPaul's Drag Race UK vs The World to wait before being able to tune into the program's semi-final.

The long-awaited instalment won't be airing until 12.20am as the BBC Three show was booted out of its own 11.35pm slot to make room for the blockbuster movies.

Elsewhere, Hollywood will also be coming to BBC Two with Damien Chazelle's La La Land at 11pm this Friday, starring A-listers Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.

Sadly, changes to the TV schedule rarely come without sacrifices and two cancellations could be sending fans into a frenzy.

Drastic changes had to be made for this Easter weekend with Would I Lie To You? and Not Going Out not making the cut and being removed from the schedule altogether.

Needless to say that change is rife at the BBC but this isn't just limited to this Easter weekend. Recent news have reported that Race Across The World and The Repair Shop will both return for a new series during a huge upcoming telly evening.

The popular shows will be kicking off back-to-back on BBC One with The Repair Shop's newest season beginning on Wednesday, April 10, at 8pm before being followed by Race Across The World an hour later.

And while some may be enjoying their Easter weekend in the comfort of their own homes, eagerly waiting for their programs, millions of people are due to travel on Good Friday according to the BBC.

A total of 2.6 million car journeys are expected and chaos has already hit the roads with reports of long queues at Dover and vehicles having to face a two-hour wait.

To make matters worse, following Thursday's stormy weather may have eased after contributing to severe delays on the road in the evening but "dozens" of alerts and flood warnings remain in England.

However, BBC Weather presenter Chris Fawkes assured that, despite the long wait on the roads, conditions are expected to improve into the rest of the Easter weekend.
